Cocke Co. town finds 27 basketballs clogging drain

The Cocke County town of Parrottsville discovered the source of its drainage problem last week: 27 basketballs.

The Parrottsville Inn, which is located in the middle of town, would occasionally experience floods because of a nearby drain backup.

"It was completely wiping out our mulch when it would flood," said Parrottsville Inn Owner Raymond Robinson.

He said the drainage problem had cost his bed and breakfast $1,200. So, the town of Parrottsville decided to fix the problem.

Soon thereafter, that was when the discovery was made.

Greene Co. dispute over kittens ends in tomato fight

A pair of East Tennessee women have filed simple assault complaints against each other after a disagreement over some neighborhood kittens ended with a tomato fight.

According to the Greene County Sheriff's Department, 71-year-old Norma Ricker was tending her garden which she shares with her neighbor, 28-year-old Rachael Price.

Ricker told police they got into an argument over stray kittens Price was feeding. That's when she says Price threw a green tomato and hit her in the face. Ricker also says Price hit her on the arm with a tobacco stick.
