East Tenn wakes up to some snow, a little black ice

Update 8:43 a.m.

Snow and ice covered mainly secondary roads Friday morning. Crews had worked into the night covering main roads and highways with salt.

The following is a list of East Tennessee and southern Kentucky counties with respective road conditions. This list will be updated throughout the morning.

Nearly 2,000 graduates in black caps and gowns received their diplomas at the University of Tennessee Friday, but one journalism and electronic media major had no idea her younger brother, who has been deployed for the past 16 months, flew home to surprise her on stage.

3 Carson-Newman athletes charged after campus fight

3 Carson-Newman athletes charged after campus fight

Three Carson-Newman athletes are facing charges after an alleged fight on the Jefferson County campus.

A school spokesman says the two adults and one juvenile were involved in a fight with another person.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

The school won't release any names or what sport those three young men played.

The investigation will go through the Office of Student Affairs.
