The man charged with killing two men and injuring two others during a pharmacy robbery has pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Pair charged with dragging dog from moving car

Two people are facing charges after a police officer saw them dragging a small dog beside a moving car.

On Sunday, an officer saw the car with the small dog hanging by a leash coming out of the door and pulled the car over.

John Brooks was driving the car. His passenger, Cyrstal Ledford, told the officer she had tied the dog's leash to the gear shift.

Ammo becomes scarce for sheriff's offices


Sheriff's departments around the area say they're struggling amid an ammo shortage and they're trying to figure what's the best way to find some.

Permits clear way for Greene Co. pipeline

(WBIR) US Nitrogen will build a new 12 mile double pipeline in Greene County after local, state, and federal leaders approved the final permits Monday night.

The pipeline will pull water from the Nolichucky River. Greeneville and the Greene County industrial development board will own the pipeline and US Nitrogen will foot the bill.

Newport man accused of robbing 3 stores

A Newport man is facing multiple charges after police say he robbed three Cocke County businesses over the last three months.

On Thursday Newport Police arrested 20-year-old John Morgan Lovell and 21-year-old Jacob Shelton in the robbery of Fred's Store.

Police have also charged Lovell with the robberies of the Dollar General Store in Newport on Wednesday and Jabo's Pharmacy back in July.

Former Dr. admits seeing patients after smoking crack

GREENVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former Greeneville physician has been sentenced after pleading guilty to crack cocaine distribution and health care fraud.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, District Judge J. Robert Greer on Monday ordered Robert W. Locklear to serve 24 months in prison and pay $121,959 in restitution.

Locklear ran two businesses - Trinity Recovery Clinic and Trinity Internal Medicine and Sleep.
