Greeneville Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the death of two babies earlier this week.

Greeneville Police Department's Lt. Steve Spano said officers arrested Erick Eugene Jones, 21, and charged him with two counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

The Greeneville Fire Department found Trinity Jones, 2 months, and Kynsleigh Easterly, 13 months, unresponsive on December 17th after someone called 911. Officials said they were siblings.

At a press conference with Greeneville Police Saturday, officials said Jones is not the father of either child. Police said Jones and the babies' mother were romantically involved. The four of them lived together at the home on North Hardin Street.

The Greene County Detention Center said Jones was booked in the jail at 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning.
