FBI agents spent the day digging up the backyard of a Greeneville home, searching for evidence in a year-long civil rights investigation.

Agents used metal detectors at the home on Rainbow Circle. They wouldn't say what they were looking for, but WCYB has learned it's connection to a home invasion case from 2006. That's when four masked armed men broke into a home on Jim Fox Road and beat two people up.

Sheriff's deputies chased them to the home here on Rainbow Circle, where one was shot by a deputy.

That is, until Thursday morning.

"I get up around five, have me a cup of coffee and a cake," said Ellis, who then heads out the door to crank up the Jefferson County school bus in his driveway.

But Thursday morning there was no bus there.
